CNC Milling Experts Training

The second week in a row of Expert Training has taken place at Industrias ROMI’s Training Facility in Santa Bárbara d’Oeste, São Paulo State, Brazil.

CAD Expert Training 

Between January 9 and 12, 2017, the Training of Computer Assisted Designers (CAD) was held in Santiago, Chile.

The training took place in the facilities of the Liceo Industrial Chileno Alemán de Ñuñoa, where 16 teachers from the WorldSkills Americas Member Countries: Chile, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico and Peru met with the Expert of Brazil, Professor Tales Breno Justino, who during the Four days presented a methodology to obtain excellent results in the area of Education and Professional Training, as well as prepare Competitors for future competitions.

WorldSkills Chile 2016

The first Competition of WorldSkills Chile has been held to great success this month from the 6th to the 11th. This is a big step forward for Member Organization WorldSkills Chile Foundation which has been a Member of WorldSkills Americas since 2010 and WorldSkills International since 2013.

The organizers hard work paid-off as over 50 students from various different TVET Schools came together to share and compare their Skills. For 14 hours, spread over three days the youths competed in 9 Skills:

Mechatronics

Computer Aided Design CAD

Welding

Plumbing

Electrical Installations

Mobile Robotics

Automotive Technology

A ceremony was held to honor the medalists, with the Gold Medalists having earned the chance to represent their country in the next International Competitions.

Congratulations to the Medalists and all Competitors your success is also a success for your country and for the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Movement.


Chilean National Competitions 2016

The First WorldSkills Chile Technical Skills Olympiad will take place during the month of November 2016.

The Competitions will take place between November 6 and 11, in several cities of the country, simultaneously. See the agenda.

There will be 9 Skills that will develop their test projects over 14 hours with the participation of 54 young Competitors aged between 15 and 21.


Competitors will participate in the following Skills:

  • Mechatronics
  • Computer Aided Design CAD
  • Welding
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical Installations
  • Mobile Robotics
  • Automotive Technology
  • Landscaping
  • Industrial Control


Mobile Robotics Expert Training

In continuation of this year’s series of Expert Training programs, the WorldSkills Americas Member Countries: Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay and Peru sent their Mobile Robotics Experts to Bogotá, Colombia this week.

The Visit took place from the 24th to the 28th of October in one of the Vocational Training Schools of SENA – Colombia.

Sponsorship and technological support for the training was generously provided by National Instruments, to whom we are grateful.

The Experts will take the expertise back with them to their institutions be shared with students and fellow teachers.

WorldSkills Chile is preparing his 1st Technical Skills Olympiad WSCH 2016 to be held in November and it was visited by Ms. Maylen Brenes, an official of the Instituto Nacional de Aprendizaje – INA and Technical Delegate for Costa Rica at WSI and WSA.

Between 29/08 and 05/09, Ms. Maylen attended a series of meetings with the Technical Committee, members of the Board of WS Chile and Experts from a number of Skills, in order to share their experience in preparing all technical and communication aspects inherent to a WorldSkills Olympics.

Mr. Arsenio Fernandez, President of the WorldSkills Chile Foundation, points out that "most notable achievement was the meeting held with those in charge of Vocational Technical Education at the Ministry of Education to get to know how to organize and run a competition in the model of WSI.




Welding Expert Training

From the 22nd to the 26th of August 2016, 12 Welding Experts from the WorldSkills Americas Member Countries: Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and  The Dominican Republic, participated in a week long course in São Paulo which was held in the SENAI School “Nadir Dias de Figueiredo” - Osasco.

Expert Training benefits Experts and Competitors as well as strengthening overall Technical and Vocational Education and Training systems. They also allow for an exchange of knowledge and interaction between our Members.

It was through the generous sponsorship and technical support of Lincoln Electric that this Expert Training week was made possible.

Mechatronics Expert Training

On the 8th of August FESTO received 13 Mechatronics Experts from the WorldSkills Americas Member Countries: Chile, Colombia, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Peru, Ecuador, Paraguay, The Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Bolivia, for a week long course in São Paulo, aimed at improving their Skills and thus benefiting both their Technical and Vocational Education and Training systems and their Competitors of future international competitions.


We give special thanks to FESTO for making this training possible through their sponsorship and technological support.

Another Expert Training week will be held for the Skill of Welding, from the 22nd to 26th of August with the participation of 11 Member Countries confirmed.

WorldSkills Americas Competition 2016

With respect to WorldSkills Americas Competition 2016 scheduled to take place in Guanajuato/Mexico we inform you that due to internal reasons of the institutions involved, the event cannot be held.

So, in order to keep the process for Seeking the Excellence for professionals and their respective Institutions, it was proposed to carry out in the year 2016, training programs for Experts in the Skills of interest to Member Countries with the support/sponsorship of Partner Companies working in related technology areas.
